National Public Data – Data Breach, one of the largest companies that conducts background checks & obtains criminal records for Companies and private investigators.

The incident is believed to have involved a third-party bad actor that was trying to hack into National Public Data database with potential leaks of certain data in April 2024 and summer 2024. The information that was suspected of being breached contained name, email address, phone number, social security number, and mailing address(es). The data contains a person’s first and last name, three decades of address history and Social Security number. Some experts said they were also able to find a person’s parents, siblings and immediate relatives. The database includes people living and dead.  

How to protect yourself:  

We recommend freezing your credit and monitoring your credit with all 3 of the leading Credit Bureau. You can also use tools, such as npdbreach.com, to see if your data shows up in the archive of leaked information. Other similar tools are out there too, although these tools do require that you provide your name or other information.
